Yubikey authenticator
Tired of ‘authenticating’ every time you log into Salesforce? This little gem has been a game-changer for me. Take a look at Yubikey! It’s a physical hardware authentication device developed by Yubico and is MFA-configurable for accessing Salesforce!
Here's how you configure Salesforce with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) using a Yubikey key:
1. Enable MFA in Salesforce. To do this, go to Setup > Security > Session Settings and scroll down to the "Multi-Factor Authentication Settings" section. Check the "Enable Multi-Factor Authentication" box and save your changes.
2. Configure your MFA settings to allow for USB key authentication. To do this, go to Setup > Security > Multi-Factor Authentication and click on the "Edit" button next to the "User Authentication Settings" section. Check the "Enable USB Token" box and save your changes.
3. Set up your USB key for use with Salesforce. Insert your USB key into your computer and navigate to the Salesforce login page. Enter your username and password as usual, and then select "Use USB Token" as your MFA method.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to register your USB key with Salesforce. You may need to download and install a driver or software program to enable USB key authentication.
5. Once your USB key is registered, you will be prompted to insert it into your computer whenever you log in to Salesforce. Simply insert your USB key and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the authentication process.
That's it! With these steps, you should be able to configure Salesforce with MFA using a Yubikey. Please note that the exact steps may vary depending on your Salesforce edition and configuration. Get your Yubikey here.
